Phase 1: The Yellow Turban Rebellion The year is 184 AD. The brilliance that was the Han Dynasty was beginning to wane. Greed and corruption by the Ten Eunuchs had brought disarray to the Imperial Court and tension erupted. Not only that, but many natural disaster had brought China to a crawl, and poverty was rampant. Despite this, the upperclass did not care for the peasants. The Empire needed something or it would crumble. The seeds of destruction were planted. Enter, Zhang Jue. A man of great charisma and religious fervor. A man people could like. His teachings drew in hundreds of thousands, and many listened to his words and held onto every single one. Many flocked to his so called "Way of Peace" and his words that resounded of "Heaven's Will." To these Han people, those who had lost all hope, he was a shining example of a hero. But his "Way of Peace" needed blood. He called his followers to arms, having them done yellow scarves, and so the Yellow Turban Rebellion began. The Eunuchs, now terrified and angered that someone could raise arms up against them, called forth their greatest General, He Jin, and the Imperial Army to crush the Rebellion. The Han Dynasty was finally beginning to set. A new era of bloodshed was starting. And one that would change the course of China, forever.
